Digital Pasifik was launched earlier this week at National Library Te Puna Matāuranga o Aotearoa, hosted by the Australian High Commission.
Digital Pasifik is a virtual museum that has opened the doors to the richness and diversity of Pacific culture.
The launch was celebrated the Pacific Way with talanoa, food and dance. Hon Jan Tinetti and Hon Poto Williams from the New Zealand Government attended along with members of the diplomatic community and GLAM sector.
Also joining the event via Zoom were colleagues at National Library of Australia, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Australia and members of the co-design group.
Digital Pasifik lets you find Pacific culture, history, and stories from museums, archives, libraries, and galleries as well as community groups and NGO’s.
Digital Pasifik aims to empower people in and of the Pacific Islands, enabling them to see, discover and explore items of digitised cultural heritage that are held in collections around the world.
